A torn, brittle membrane was allowing water to migrate behind the liner and into the pool shell. Ferguson Aquatics removed the failed system, rebuilt the coping-wrap termination and installed a reinforced two-color membrane system.
The existing condition
What the crew walked into.
The existing membrane had become torn and brittle, allowing water to move behind the liner and into the shell. The original coping detail was trapped beneath the surrounding deck, so a proper replacement could not be installed without opening that termination.
Field execution
How the system was rebuilt.
The crew completed the tear-out, cut back the existing deck to expose and rebuild the coping-wrap termination, prepared the shell and installed 70-mil Adriatic Blue membrane with an 80-mil Light Grey coping wrap—all in 12 working days.
