Traditional residential vinyl liners are commonly manufactured in the 20–30 mil range and fabricated offsite to fit a measured pool. They remain a practical finish for many purpose-built vinyl-liner pools.
Reinforced PVC membrane is a different assembly. RENOLIT membranes combine flexible PVC layers with internal polyester reinforcement and are typically supplied in heavier 60–80 mil classes. The material is fitted and heat-welded at the pool, allowing the installer to build around the actual shell and its details.
Reinforcement for stability
A polyester core adds strength and helps control stretching while the PVC follows the pool’s shape.

Answers before you request a quote.
Can a membrane be installed over my current pool surface?
Often, but the shell must be structurally sound and compatible with the system. Loose coatings, damaged material and surface irregularities need correction first. We review the existing finish, fittings and groundwater conditions before recommending an installation.
What affects the price?
Pool surface area, existing-material removal, shell repairs, steps and benches, gutters or coping, fitting changes, material selection, access and travel all affect the scope. Send photos and approximate dimensions so we can discuss a project-specific quote.
How long will the pool be closed?
Preparation and repairs can take as much planning as the membrane itself. Our completed projects show actual working-day examples; your schedule depends on size, condition, access, weather and the work assigned to other trades.
Will I see seams?
The membrane is assembled from sheets with heat-welded seams. Seams can remain visible; we plan their placement around the pool geometry and selected finish. A reinforced system is not a seamless coating.
Can damage be repaired?
Localized damage can often be repaired with a compatible heat-welded patch when the membrane’s condition allows. The cause and condition need assessment first; a repair is not always a substitute for replacement.
What maintenance does it need?
Maintain water chemistry and operating temperature within the selected product’s requirements. Use compatible cleaning methods and avoid abrasive tools or concentrated chemicals touching the membrane. We provide manufacturer care guidance.
